Why do you even play this game?

While Stroud and Deimos have some really nice setups there is just something about the Cabot (and not just the stairs lol). It gives off a closeness type of vibe. You and your crew have gone through hell for and with each other. This ship is your home more then any other place. Overall it has this cozy yet professional feel. Side Note: with the ability to now decorate and a little mod called My Price - No one dies My head cannon is now complete. :)

Am I weird for preferring the big, sprawling ships? I wish the length and height restrictions weren't there. I DO like this design, though. Definitely gonna have to give it a go.

I’ve got a similar 2 floor no ladders build that has a landing bay under the bridge facing forward. I use the same bridge, I have all workbenches, tons of cargo space (and shielded cargo), max jump range and 100 mobility. I’ve had it now for 14 playthrough’s (though admittedly I didn’t have it in play through 2-13 as I was rushing to unity to max the powers). I even have a cargo hauler build and a battleship build though I have to re-build them due to unity. I may build this one, but edit it more to my design choices (like having the landing bay under the bridge rather than at the back).

Thanks for this. Lots of work and effort, and helps give an idea of the styles. I think the starter Nova Galactic and Stroud modules are my favorite style. I have only one suggestion, or constructive criticism. The big doors that are added when attaching modules at the front or back end do remove some features. Just as an example, the Nova Galactic Berth 2x1 B has a bathroom in the front right corner, but because the front is attached to something in this video, the bathroom has been removed to make room for the door. It would have been ideal if the modules were shown with a ladder entry coming down through one of the ceiling nodes, as this method of attachment preserves nearly all of the features, which would help people decide whether or not to attach the fronts and backs of certain modules, in addition to the various side nodes.

I have this for Xbox Series X but I’m going to have to buy the PC version so I can use these mods. Constantly running out of stamina drives me crazy. Also, not being able to dodge as a melee class basically ruined the game for me. I’ll have to get this for PC soon

Less than 2,000 shields? Less than 10,000 storage units? No weapons aimed at the rear or flanks? An end-game ship shouldn't have to maneuver at all, it shoots itself in all directions with enough force that no fight, even 5-1, lasts more than 15 seconds. Mobility and speed become negligible at the end of the game. Why go fast when no one can escape? Why maneuver when all angles are covered? Think bigger for more shield and hull points. Store enough fuel and cargo for more mission freedom. He's nice ! But nowhere near the level of a real end-game ship.

This might sound dumb, but the total reset of items inside a ship when you make the smallest change killed the game for me. I spent HOURS hand placing hundreds of items. It was my perfect mobile base. I then changed the color of a part that had nothing to do with the habs and it moved all the items back into storage. My desire to keep playing dropped to almost zero and I stopped completely a few days later.

Used it loved it, can you make a tutorial on how to increase your crew size instead of having as 2

I've played a few games on this list. Surviving Mars is the #1 Mars game i've played. A crime it isn't on this list.

Now you can decorate so only habs practically necessary are ones that increase your stats. For example the 1x1 supply or companionway increase hull by 5 as does a 2x1 but are empty and have room for your work benches science and pharmaceutical bench. So you only need stuff then that increases your passenger and crew slots while adding as many small habs to increase hull but keep mass low and allow for benches.

Only thing I dont love about this ship is the engine aesthetic.

So I started playing again and never got to build a ship, so I was wondering how do you buy shit parts from different companies to build a new ship.

Seen a few ship videos but this one is the best, the time spent alone to arrange all the individual pieces out aesthetically must’ve taken a while! Great job man, I hope you make some videos when the new DLC is out so I know how to make the most of it

I upgraded and remade the free ship ypu get from faction mission sheildbreaker and got the same stats for around 390k

I get lost in the ship building all the time. It’s just so easy and satisfying to be able to build your own starship the way you want it. It can be finicky at times but it’s fun.
